Carlos D. Williamson is a Portuguese-speaking journalist and multimedia storyteller, who's not afraid to leave his comfort zone to report on culture or social justice issues. By traveling and meeting new people, he's able to share stories that resonate with a diverse audience. Carlos recently returned from São Paulo, Brazil, where he served as a bilingual-culture reporter at Folha de S.Paulo.
Living in São Paulo--the largest city in Brazil--taught him more about his Brazilian heritage, which helped him learn more about the country's unique and rich history. While abroad, he tried new food, visited historical places, made new friends and met some family. This journey has reshaped his perspective on Brazil--and other third-world countries--and has also contributed to his reporting.
